Additional information about our training programs

Sports Injury Prevention

Soccer injuries in adolescents dramatically increase by the time players are high school-aged. Most are non-contact injuries due to poor turning and landing techniques. Studies have shown through the KIPP, PEP, and FIFA 11+ programs that a consistent injury prevention program and education for players of all ages can reduce the rates of non-contact soccer injuries.

Jonathon Soto is a Certified Sportsmetric injury prevention instructor, with 3 years of experience working with young athletes at Dayton Children's South Campus rehab unit as a Physical Therapy Assistant. The program will be structured on 4 main points in injury prevention: A proper warm-up and stretching routine, strengthening/conditioning of specific muscles for landing and turning, proper landing and turning techniques with plyometric and agility training, and balance training to assist with maintaining stability with high-level movement.

All topics will be focused on soccer-specific movements. The program is beneficial for players of all ages, especially for adolescent females as females are 4-6x more likely to suffer an ACL injury.
