How old does my child need to be to play recreational soccer with Bellbrook Soccer Association?

Bellbrook Soccer Association has recreational programs for children ages 3 to 14 (pre-K – 8th grade).

 

How are the players divided into the divisions?

Divisions are primarily guided by grade as shown in the table below, along with approximate age ranges for each division.

What is Future Stars Academy?

Future Stars Academy is a supplemental program designed to introduce recreational players, ages 6-9 to soccer, provide developmental sessions and participate in games.   The Academy program is specifically designed to help players become more comfortable with the ball and enjoy playing the game at a higher level.  Academy player will enjoy additional practice nights, outside of their recreational practice schedule.  Players will also play games against neighboring cities.  The Academy is a co-ed program. 

 

How do I volunteer to be a recreational soccer coach for my child’s team?

For the safety and well-being of all children, Ohio South Youth Soccer Association (OSYSA) mandates background checks on all coaches participating in the district.   OSYSA also requires that all recreational coaches complete on-line training for abuse prevention and concussion awareness.  If you are interested in signing up to coach your child’s team please follow the instructions below. 

 
  1. Register in Stack Sports
    1. Log onto http://ohiofusionsc.osysalive.com/home.php
    2. Click on the following title:  Bellbrook Soccer Recreation - Coaches
    3. Select the person who wishes to register as a REC coach and select Coach Pool
      IMPORTANT:  Use your FULL LEGAL name when completing your demographic information as it will be used for your background check.
    4. Complete the section regarding Concussion Information, and also sign & date.
    5. Review Lindsay's Law. 
    6. Complete the section regarding Background Information. It may take several days for your background check to clear.
    7. You DO NOT need to upload a current photo. 

  2. After completion of registration, Complete Mandatory Training:
    After registration, an email with a code will be sent to the email address you provided during registration.  Use this code to access the training for free.  Training may take 2-3 hours to complete, but it is mandatory. Ohio South Youth Soccer requires that all coaches complete this training for the safety of all children.

    1. Upload your concussion certificate using the Concussion Training Certificate radio button.
    2. Take the required SafeSport training using the Abuse Prevention radio button.
    3. Nothing is required for the Safety/Additional Certification at this time.

  3.  Once you have the concussion certificate and abuse certificate completed, your profile should look like this.



Is there a refund policy?

Refunds will only be issued before the player’s first game.  If there are extenuating circumstances after the first game of the season, refund requests may be sent to [email protected] and will be reviewed by the BSA board.  There will be a $10 processing charge for all refunds issued. 

 

Do I need to purchase a uniform for my child?

Each player who registers for Bellbrook Rec Soccer will receive a jersey shirt prior to their first game.  For your child's safety please make sure they wear soccer cleats and shin guards to all practices and games.  

 

When will parents be informed of game and practice cancellations?

Bellbrook Soccer Association, along with the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Park District makes every attempt to relay field status to parents by 4pm on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends.  

 

What size soccer ball should my child have for practices?

Sizes for each division are listed below.
